Coopers Rock State Park Tag Team and State Qualifiers Event #1
April 25, 2026
Located near Morgantown and Cheat Lake, Coopers Rock State Forest offers Irish Road Bowling a beautiful Spring setting for a family fun event. The park closes the course to traffic during the event, a rarity in this game. In years past, bowlers have traveled from as far as Chestertown MD and Dallas TX to compete.
Tag-Team Event - Saturday
Typically, team road bowling events are for teams of 4. Straying from tradition, the event at Coopers Rock State Forest will again be the site of a doubles match. Join forces with your favorite friend, relative, coworker, or even ask a seasoned bowler to be your partner.
State Qualifying Event - Sunday
Competing for Tag Team belts will also give you a little practice for WV State singles competition. Coopers Rock will be the site of the 1st round of qualifying for the State Championships. What could be better than 2 days of bowling at this state forest?
Coopers Rock will give bowlers the first chance to qualify for the WV Singles State Championships. Three bowlers will be selected in each grade (Novice 2-4 and Women’s) at Coopers Rock. Three additional bowlers will be selected from each grade at both Kanawha State Forest and the final qualifier Strawberry Festival. Registration is $10 for Novice bowlers. Beginners who come out, or bowlers who have never won at the state level, bowl as Novice 4’s. Women have the option to qualify in either the Women’s bracket or Novice 4, but not both.
Registration at 12:30, Bowling begins at 1:30 for both days.
