Tygart Lake State Park, Grafton WV

November 7, 2020

Tygart lake State Park offers Irish Road Bowling teams one last chance to compete before Winter sets in and we are forced to put our road bowls on a shelf. Only a few cars interrupt play as the lake activities have also slowed for the change in weather.  Tygart offers a fun course that twists and turns through the woods along the lake.

In recent years, several teams have turned this season ending event into a potluck soup cook off.  Bowlers prepare their favorite cool weather comfort food, soups, and chilis, and set up in the pavilion for everyone to enjoy.  Preparing a dish is not required for this event, but some believe it gains favor with the “Road Gods”.  So, if you enjoy Irish road bowling, eating, or showing off your culinary skills, mark this date on your calendar! As always, road bowls will be provided for rent or purchase ($5).  WVIRBA merchandise will be available while supplies last.

Registration begins at 12:30. Bowling begins at 1:30
